Paper Plate Fingerprint Peacock Kids Craft

The kids and I loved this fun paper plate craft. We had a family zoo trip planned for this week so we made some of our favorite zoo animals from paper plates, the fingerprint peacock turned out awesome so I had to share! The supply list and directions are below.

Supplies Needed:

– Paints
– Paper Plate
– Scissors
– Cardboard
– Googly Eyes

Directions:

First you’ll start off by taking the paper plate and cutting it in half. Next cut a slit in the middle where the body of the peacock will be inserted. Have the kids pick out their peacock colors and decorate the paper plate with some paint. Once the paints dried they can add in some fingerprint feathers, like our version below. We used a dark blue and a green for the fingerprints.

Next, take your piece of cardboard and draw an outline of the peacocks body and then cut it out. Take your dark blue and yellow paint and finish the body. Don’t forget to glue on the googly eyes!

The slit that you cut earlier can now be used for the cardboard piece that you just painted. Slide in the peacocks body into the slit so that the craft will be able to stand. If you’re slit isn’t big enough just take your scissors and make it a little wider.

We made a few of these and displayed them in the house, they turn out gorgeous!
